Getting started
What do I need to run it?
A phone, tablet or laptop with a web browser for the scoring table. Nothing to install. A tablet or laptop gives a big, easy-to-read board; a phone works fine too.
Do spectators need an account or an app?
No. Share the event's 4-digit code or link and anyone can watch every game live in their browser, for free.
Can I try it first?
Yes. Score a
demo game yourself (nothing is saved), or browse a
demo season with standings, schedules and stats.
Is there a phone app?
There's an Android app for the scoring table (
download). It keeps the horn and countdown sounds going when the screen locks or you switch apps. On iPhone, install it as a web app: open the site in Safari, tap Share, then
Add to Home Screen. It then opens full-screen from its own icon like any other app. Keep the screen on while scoring.
On the day
What happens if we lose signal at the field?
Scoring carries on. The clock, buzzers and scores all run on the device, and everything syncs when the signal comes back. Spectators see the latest update they received until then.
Can I set our own rules?
Yes: game length, break time between points, timeouts (how many, how long, and a lock near the end of the break), mercy rule, points per win/tie/loss, tie-breakers, one buzzer per team or a single referee buzzer, start-countdown buttons, and whether teams swap ends after a point. You can also name your ends after your field, like River and Carpark.
Does it make sounds?
Yes: a horn, countdown beeps, and optional spoken cues like "thirty seconds" or "one minute remaining", plus announcements of the next game.
What if we're running late?
After each result it can offer to shift the rest of the schedule when you're running ahead or behind. You can also add a lunch break and set the time between games, and it can start the next game's countdown automatically.
Can two games run at once?
On one field, one game at a time. A split deck lets two games share the field: the decks take turns, each playing its point while the other has its break, all run from one phone.
Can we use physical buzzer buttons?
Yes, if you want them. They're optional: the buzzers on the screen always work. Any wireless button set that works as a keyboard to your phone or tablet (USB or Bluetooth) will do. It needs a button at each end of the field and a receiver that types the key F13 for one end and F14 for the other. Turn them on in Settings & sound → Buzzer buttons and set which end is which. [email protected].
Can more than one device be used?
Yes. Log in on as many phones, tablets or laptops as you like. Each game is run by the device that opens it; the others watch it live and can take over with one tap, handy if a phone goes flat.
Tournaments and seasons
What tournament formats are there?
Round robin (everyone plays everyone once) or double round robin, with or without finals. Add your teams and it builds the draw and the schedule with game times. For anything else, such as pools, cup and plate, or a straight knockout, build it yourself round by round, start from a template, or describe it in words and let it build the draw. Save a format to reuse it next time.
How do seasons work?
Group tournaments into a season and teams earn season points by finishing position. You can add guest teams that play in an event without counting for the season, and manually override points when you need to.
What stats do we get?
Records like quickest point, longest game, highest scoring game and most points played, plus team leaders, for each event and across the season. See
what the stats mean.
Can teams register online and sign waivers?
Yes, if you turn it on. You get a private link to send teams. Captains enter their team and players, and each player signs your waiver on their own phone (under-18s with a parent or guardian). Teams go straight onto your team list. In a season, teams register once and players sign once for every event. Contact details and signatures are only seen by your hosts.
Can we track paint?
Yes. Paint sign-out records cases per team with a signature, and can show a "Trigger Happy" stat. Sign-out details stay with your hosts; only per-team totals are shown publicly.
Spectators and your website
Can spectators get a heads-up before their team plays?
Yes. They tick their team on the event page and get a phone notification when its game is coming up or starting. On iPhone this works once the page is added to the Home Screen.
Can we show live scores on our own website?
Yes: copy-paste embeds for any website, or the WordPress plugin. They update by themselves. See
embeds.
Who can see our events?
Live events are listed on the home page for anyone to watch, unless you mark an event "code required"; then only people with its 4-digit code can find it. You choose what goes on the public results page, and only your logged-in hosts can change scores.
Account and data
How much does it cost?
It’s free forever for the first few event hosts. See
pricing. Spectators always watch free.
Who owns our results?
You do. We store them so the app and your spectators can see them. See our
privacy policy and
terms.
